NSW students can only leave school earlier than age 17 if they have a training course or an Apprenticeship or Traineeship available.

Holyoake Drumbeats Program
The Holyoake Drumbeat program is an initiative designed to assist disengaged students to connect with their community and develop skills for successful transition.
Drumbeat aims to promote positive relationships, increase resilience and participation using rhythm and beat to encourage participants to work towards a common goal, while reflecting on the flow and rhythm of life and the role they play in society.
DRUMBEAT explores relationship issues such as:

Dealing with emotions

Social responsibility

Teamwork
DRUMBEAT promotes social understanding and connection through a team drumming experience. It is fun, safe, creative, engaging and rewarding. Participants lift their self-esteem, learn to work cooperatively and are exposed to the therapeutic and recreational benefits of music.

Managing the Bull program is an initiative that builds resilience in bullied teens through games, activities and discussions. In a safe, supportive environment.
Over a 6 week period, young people are encouraged to participate in these activities to build resilience and raise self-awareness.
On completion of this program young people will have learnt to;

R.A.G.E Program
Re-Navigating Anger and Guilty Emotions
RAGE is an anger management course for young people ages between 11-17. It was initially created by Kenneth Nathan and Carol Musgrave.
RAGE is a strengths based solution focussed program that is practical and fun for kids.
Over a 6 week period, young people are encouraged to participate in games, activities and discussions that build resilience, raise self-awareness and help understand human emotion and anger.

Sugar N Spice
in the Valley Program
The Sugar N Spice in the Valley Program is an initiative designed to assist disengaged students to develop skills for a successful transition to connect with the community and develop a pathway to future employment opportunities.
Students work alongside and under the guidance of a JobQuest youth consultant to assist in a community focused project for the students with the concept of young people to facilitate morning tea for local groups who attend the centre.
This project provides students with excellent work place experience within a small kitchen setting, gaining valuable skills that develop team work, time management and problem solving skills.
