What is HIPPY?
HIPPY is the Home Interaction Program for Parents and Youngsters.
HIPPY is a two-year, home based early learning and parenting program that empowers families and carers to be their child’s first teacher through a love for learning play based structure.
HIPPY has been delivering for over 50 years and running in Australia since 1998 with one hundred sites situated throughout Australia.
We hope you enjoy working with your Tutor, meeting other HIPPY families, building a strong connection with your child, and completing HIPPY activities.
How HIPPY works ...
HIPPY begins at the age of 3 with a focus on play based learning and empowerment between parents/carers and the HIPPY child.
Activities start at 3 per fortnight increasing to 4 to 5 as the child nears the end of Age 3 Program, preparing the child for the Age 4 Program.
As the child moves into the Age 4 Program, the move to a weekly activity pack consisting of 5 activities designed to help prepare for a smooth transition to school.
HIPPY families spend around 10-15 minutes per activity with a focus on learning happening everywhere, making it easy to fit into everyday life through completing educational activities together.
